Dry Canyon Trail
Location: Hobble Creek Canyon - Springville, UT
The Dry Canyon trail up Hobble Creek Canyon was an easy hike. Aside from the length, the difficulty of this trail was comparable to The Grotto trail in Payson Canyon. The trail goes through a river that is mostly dry, at least during the time I went.
Getting to the trail, the trail is located behind an equestrian parking zone. There is parking just beyond that has trail information and a map detailing the different cutoffs and routes. The trail head is a short walk from the parking area.

Trail head: 40.200718,-111.418000
Directions. Head up hobble creek canyon and continue up the right fork towards Jolleys. Continue past the first gate and past Cherry campground. The turn off will be on your left hand side, refer to the images above if needed. If you've gotten to balsam campground, you've gone to far. Once parked, walk down towards the cattle grate and on your right you'll find a short dirt road with a gate at the end, just past the gate you'll find the trail head.
The route in my review, is not the full 5.7 mile trail, rather of Cutoff A. I haven't been able to hike the full trail yet; however, from what I've done, the trail is mostly level ground with a fallen tree, few inclines and rocks on the path. I plan to hike the four trails that intertwine on the Dry Canyon Trail and will update this guide when I do.
What you might encounter. While hiking, I stumbled upon a rubber boa, which you can see some information here. The snake wasn't too big, but both times I hiked the trail I spotted the snake. The snake eats small prey and didn't act aggressive to me, my hiking partner or the dog we had with us.
There were several birds in the trees, although I didn't get a close enough look to identify any of them. Additionally there was a small animal that moved too fast to identify, likely a squirrel or chipmunk.
I would suggest bringing some water and snacks if you plan to go the full route, especially if you go during the heat of the day.
